Well, I have completed Pump class number two. Here's the great news people for those who get put off by pain.
Pump class 1 = Post class puke followed by serious muscle pain for 5 days, could not walk down stairs, sit on toilet or anything but the missionary position without serious cringing and pain. ( I know - too much info, but you need to be warned of these things!)
Pump class 2 = No puke - Yay!! And no pain. Double yay!!
So, all I can take from this is that the muscles respond really quickly and really well to exercise.
To be honest, I already feel slightly harder and more toned. Triple yay and a hand pump in the air, followed by a 'woohoo' for me then. ;-)
But, I am thinking if I don't hurt afterwards, does that mean I need to increase the weight at the next class? UH OH
You see, I am standing there huffing and puffing, legs shaking, sweat pissing out of every orifice, biting my lips through the strain of the class and I look around and everyone is lifting heavier weights than me. And not just half a kilo more. I'm talking teeny tiny little miniature-bottomed size 6 girls lifting twice the weights I do. I think 'good... clearly it doesn't make you bulk up' then I see middle aged women - lifting 10 kilos to my 4. Bloody hell, it's like being on a different planet. One that is filled with super strong women.
I might take the 4 kilos to 6 next week and see how I go... It'll probably back to not walking down stairs and sex positions 101 again. ha ha
And now for weird gym goings on...
After class sat in sauna - YUM! Then took off to the spa but did not stay long. There were about 35 men in the spa and 3 women. I was a little worried I had stumbled into something I shouldn't have!! None the less, it was relaxing for a couple of minutes.
Had a hilarious 'you wouldn't dream of it' moment post pump class - well, my arms were trembling from the workout and I placed my padlock in the locker above someone else's and then accidentally knocked it and it fell inside their locker through the gap. I was not impressed, standing there in my birthday suit wondering how to get it out. Luckily she opened the locker after I came out of the shower and I was able to retrieve the runaway padlock.
Oh and get this for weird behaviour. I came out of class and sitting on the bench beside my locker were two girls. Both staring into space and licking chocolate ice creams really slowly. I was too scared to take my gear off because 'I' felt inappropriate. Then I got annoyed, I'm supposed to be sweaty and naked in the locker room, why can't they go away!!
1) Surely it's kind of obnoxious to eat ice creams in front of those of us on a health quest.
2) WHY WHY WHY would you eat ice creams in a locker room surrounded by naked, sweaty women - it's not the movie cinema!
Totally bizarre....
