ImageOnce you are afflicted with acne, it may not just be annoying and embarrassing, but may sometimes be very costly to get rid of it. Luckily, there are certain things that you can do to prevent an outbreak of acne or help you control and prevent it from worsening if you already have it.

Exercise:
Since acne is caused by the collection of excess oil, dead skin cells and bacteria and the trapping of the same under the skin pores, regular exercising will help to boost your immune system, expunge acne-causing toxins from your body and lessening the chance of you contacting acne.

The Right Diet:
Eating more of vegetables and fruits will go a long way in preventing your body from getting acne. This is because they contain nutrients that will help keep your skin healthy. In the same vein, keeping away from excessively fatty or oily foods and refined sugar will help as well.

The Right Cosmetics:
Oil-based and heavy cosmetic products can actually cause or worsen an already present acne condition. On the other hand, using water-based and hypo-allergenic products ensures that you don't clog your skin's pores, which will result in an outbreak of acne.

Good Personal Hygiene:
This does not mean scrubbing your face or skin mercilessly will prevent an acne outbreak. What we mean here is that it thorough washing of your face and skin regularly (during the day and before going to bed) will prevent build up of toxic oil that can cause or worsen your skin disease.

Drink Water:
I know this may sound ridiculous, but drinking 8-10 glasses of water everyday will help reduce the level of toxins and even dilute them to the point that they cannot build up under your skin and cause you unwanted acne.

Avoid Skin-Irritating Chemicals:
Cutting oils, metalworking oils, crude oils and other such derivatives of petroleum can actually cause acne when they come into direct contact with the skin. Protecting your body carefully when handling these and thoroughly washing any part of the skin that comes into contact with these oils will go a long way in preventing the outbreak or worsening your acne or other skin diseases.

It is a popular saying that prevention is better than cure. And it can never be truer than when it comes to handling the health of your skin. Following the tips outlined above should help you prevent an outbreak of acne that will cost you hundreds or thousands to cure.

There are really inexpensive products available in the supermarket..simple, dove, neutrogena all have sensitive & oil free products. Even St Ives facial scrub, just remember thay need sun block too. Being a teen is hard enough without the added stress of skin/facial appearance.
