Parents Centres New Zealand Inc and healthy home ventilation specialist HRV are pleased to announce their official partnership for the coming year.

Both organisations hope to educate New Zealanders on the importance of a healthy home and the need for a higher standard of housing for kiwi families.

“We spend a lot of time in houses throughout New Zealand and have seen the first-hand effects of condensation, asthma and allergies, as well as various air quality issues associated with New Zealand's damp climate” said Bruce Gordon, chief executive of HRV.

“Our new partnership with Parents Centres will enable us to educate young families early on about the health effects caused by cold, damp and poorly ventilated houses” he said.

Parents Centre is the leading provider of childbirth and parent education in the country, supporting parents and their children through 50 Centres nationwide.

“We are looking forward to working with HRV at both a local and national level. The health problems associated with poor housing conditions are considerable for many new parents. Our partnership will provide both organisations with an opportunity to further enhance the work we do in communities across the country and extend our efforts in preparing parents for a happy, healthy family environment” said Joan Hay, Centre Operations Manager of Parents Centres New Zealand.

Since 1952 they have been providing community support and education for kiwi parents and families. The organisation has over 120 expert educators, as well as one of the largest volunteer networks in the country.
