Your Wedding Day Theme

lei.jpgIt's only fitting that the most personal day of your life be the most personalised one as well. Choosing a theme for your wedding is the ultimate of all customising. The sum total of what you choose for this day will say 'Mr. and Mrs. You' better than any standard or traditional wedding.

There are all sorts of themes from which to choose, and only you and your fiance can determine what will suit you best. If you want to emphasise sentimental romance, you can go Victorian, Cinderella, or Camelot. Or even Romance Novel! You'll want lots and lots of candles, ribbons, lace and rose petals. And a horse-drawn carriage, of course!

A beach wedding can take place at the beach or it can be simply a theme! You will want simplicity in dress and a good supply of shells and palm trees. If your wedding actually takes place on the beach you must be sure to find out what the rules and regulations are concerning use. You don't want to end up incurring a fine for breaking the rules. You might like to consider a sunset wedding followed by a luau-type reception. If your wedding is landlocked, you can recreate a beach atmosphere by renting potted palm trees and decorating with standard beach artifacts. Include a tall fake lighthouse as part of the decorations. Construct a simple boardwalk with rail, and have your guests sit there for the ceremony.

One exotic wedding theme to consider if you like the non-traditional approach is a Jungle theme. Jungles abound with exotic flora and fauna, all of which can become part of the theme. Decorate with lions, tigers, gazelles, colorful birds, brilliantly colored flowers and lush greenery. The bride can wear cat-eye makeup along with a simple sheath-like wedding dress. Her attendants can wear any of the flame-hot colors found in the exotic flowers.

If there is a holiday that falls near your wedding date incorporate it into your wedding plans. Many brides chose Christmas or Valentine's Day as wedding themes. These types of weddings are easy to plan because there are ready supplies of decorations and food ideas available just because it's that time of year.

Go Hollywood with a Movie theme! Reach back to the Golden Age of Hollywood for glamour and glitz. Or choose a more modern movie that you as a couple are fond of. Pick your wedding theme from the characters in Star Wars or any other movie favorite.

Just remember that no matter what theme you choose, it will be something that has a very special meaning for you and your future spouse. Choose the theme carefully so that when you look back on your wedding your memories will be all the more sentimental because you made it yours.
