Tips to make the man in your life feel special

love_image.jpgI must admit that I have been guilty of dropping not-so-subtle hints on many occasions to my boyfriend, about certain, ‘romantic’ things that he is not doing, and should be doing.  For example:  Me: “These are flowers.  These are what boys give to their girlfriends”.  Boy: “hmmm…”.  And so it continues.

We all like to think that it is the man’s responsibility to bring romance to the relationship, and traditionally this has been the case. It is definitely nice to feel spoiled and have your man do romantic things for you, and long may it continue!  However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t do something romantic for your man once in a while.

We say to our men that romance shouldn’t be limited to special occasions, and neither should it be limited to gestures from the man!  Read our simple tips to bring a little romance into your relationship.  Your man will love you for it!

Plan a surprise date doing something he loves
Dates don’t have to be just dinners.  Why not plan something different, doing something that interests your partner.  For example, if he’s into extreme sports, why not book a surfing lesson for the two of you?  Or even take him to that action flick he’s been dying to see (that you could live without).  Gestures like this show your partner you have their interests at heart, and of course doing this means he will owe you the next time you want to see the latest chick-flick!

Cook him his favourite dinner
If you’re like me (and thousands of other girls) you probably do this just about on a day-to-day basis anyway!  And I’m not saying that the woman should have to cook all the time – men should definitely do their fair share.  But simple thing like making your partner his favourite dinner is an easy way to show him you care.  Don’t forget to remind him that next time it will be his turn!

Plan a weekend away
Even if it is just going camping, a weekend away is always romantic.  Make it a surprise – do all the planning and just leave a note telling your partner to pack a bag and what time to meet you.  Try finding a cute little B&B in the country, or if you want to splash out book a luxury room at a hotel for the ultimate indulgence!

Get in touch
Our lives are so busy, often we forget make time for the people we care about.  We get so caught up in work and other responsibilities, sometimes our relationships do suffer.  A simple phone call during the day to your partner, just to see how his day going will let him know you are thinking of him.  Or why not send a cute text telling him you can’t wait to see him when you get home.  It’s easy, and effective!

Tell him you care
Here’s a tip that won’t cost you a cent.  It may sound cheesy, but often we forget to tell the people in our lives how we feel.  Tell your partner what it is about him that makes you love him.  If you’re uneasy about doing it face to face, try writing him a letter.  This is a simple, often underrated way to bring some romance to your man’s life.
