Sure Johnny Depp’s great, and George Clooney seems to have been treated kindly by the ageing process, but we’ve noticed a new trend (particularly in the Gloss office) where a male celeb doesn’t have to be an Adonis to be crush-worthy. We’re calling it “geek-chic” and it’s a term to describe those sweet, funny, genuine male celebs who may not be buffed, bronzed gods but who we definitely wouldn’t kick out of bed. So after some heated debate and a lot of ‘calling dibs’, the Gloss staffers have finally narrowed down their favourite “geek-chic” guys.
Michael Cera is cera-iously irresistible. He is funny, adorably dorky and has that whole nerdy, indie rock style I love going on. Since I first laid eyes on him in ‘Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist’ I haven’t been able to get him out of my head. I frequently have Michael Cera marathon weekends where I watch every one of his movies; after all he is my future husband.

I am a total sucker for “geek-chic” guys...Wears glasses? Love it. Slightly dorky sense of humour? Yes please! So it’s tough for me to narrow it down to just one. But I am finding Louis Theroux to be a bit of a babe at the moment. He’s an amazingly intelligent British documentary maker with a very cheeky wit. You’ve got to check out his Weird Weekends series – hilarious! I’d definitely spend a weird weekend with him. But for a local choice, you can’t go past Daniel Vettori for a bit of Kiwi, geeky goodness.

My favourite ‘geek-chic’ guy would have to be Adam Brody. From his days as the goofy side-kick to bad-ass Ryan on The O.C., this geek has definitely been on my radar. I love a guy with a sense of humour and any of my friends will tell you that I do have a thing for slightly pasty, geeky guys who wear skinny jeans. Give me a geek like Adam over a buff jock any day!

I’m really liking David Tennant at the moment from Dr Who, he’s gotta be the smartest guy in the universe cause he’s a time traveller! Plus he’s cute for an older guy in a geeky kind of way!
Brad – Office Techie
My pick is Richard Hammond from Top Gear. Wicked senses of humour are so much more attractive in a man and judging by the recent Top Gear episodes he just gets funnier and funnier. I love how he always takes the piss out of James May(Captain Slow) and he's just got this glint in his eyes that you know he's always looking for trouble to get into. Whilst I can't stand short mans disease he just doesn't strike me as having it so I would let him rev my engine up anytime or the day or night or morning or afternoon...
