de-clutter.jpgIf you're looking for simple solutions to reduce the clutter that surrounds you, then you will want to read this article. After reading this article, you should immediately have an action plan to take to reduce clutter for good!

Start with asking yourself what items you use daily, and which you do not.  For example, in your kitchen you should reserve a space that you can reach easily to store the items you use daily.  Those that you don't use often, you can store in a location where you have some empty space.

If you're pressed for space, one of the best places is to utilize is your walls. If you have a bare wall, could you hang a shelf there? Or a rack, to hang things on? Simply by hanging a few shelves, you will find you have more space than you know what to do with. This is especially good at reducing clutter on countertops. Instead of putting your toothbrush on top of the sink, you can place it in a holder attached to the wall, right next to the soap-dish holder you attached for your soap.  Cooking gear is also a great option to hang on the walls in your kitchen. Consider a utensil rack, or hanging your saucepans above your stove.

Also, look at stackable containers. These function just like dressers, but are very light and are easy to move around and access. Create a system to store things in these containers, and label them for easy access. The key to reducing clutter is always to increase your organisation.

Do you have a suitcase you use from you travel? Well don't leave it empty at home!  When you aren't travelling, use it to store things you don't use daily, such as out of season clothing.

If you're still in dire need of storage space, consider going vertically. By lofting a bed, and putting storage bins underneath it, you've now created more space. This is great to put children's toys and clothing under.

In conclusion, by smart planning and utilising wall space, storage bins and makeshift containers like suitcases, you can reduce the clutter of your home quickly and make everything much more efficient.
