Born between 1946 and 1964? You qualify for baby boomer status if you were born between 1946 and 1964 (aged between 43 and 61) although there is often a couple of years lee-way either side but generally speaking 1946-1964 is where its at if you are a boomer.

The term is believed to have come from the 'boom' of births after WW11.

Compared with their parents, boomers are generally healthier, better educated and living well into their 80s and beyond.

The increasing lifespan has given boomers the chance to reinvent themselves and pursue new passions at any age which is why its not surprising that many of them are successful entrepreneurs. They don't particularly like the word 'retired' as it doesn't fairly represent their individual circumstance. They work long after their parents stopped - by choice - and have younger children than their parents traditionally did too. 

Baby boomers have reshaped what it means to grow older.
