ImageTruth be told, I hate cleaning. It's rather annoying after a long, hard week to then have to spend your weekend scrubbing toilets and vacuuming floors. But while nothing can be done to ease the annoyance of this manual labour - unless you get a house cleaner -you certainly can make the job much more pleasant...

One of the worst aspects of cleaning is the dry, stinging, chemically irritated hands that one usually suffers from, and even worse the guilt that all those nasty chemicals are going out into our beautiful ocean waters... not good for those who consider our Earth precious, and we all should!

Of course you could make your own cleaning products, but if you are pressed for time (aren't we all!) it's nice to know you can keep your skin and our Earth protected with these wonderful environmentally friendly products for your home. You'll wonder what you ever did without them.

Cinderella

You have to laugh at the genius behind the brand name for this delightful range of cleaning products. Wouldn't it be nice to be whisked off to the Prince's ball while the house gets magically cleaned for us? So the products can't promise that, but they can promise you funky packaging, great cleaning power and the most incredibly delicious smells. The GDO favourite has to be Coconut Fabulously Easy Spray Cleaner. The formula removes dirt, scum, mould and calcium build-up and leaves a protective coating to make future cleaning easier. Gotta love that! But the smell, oh the smell - it is so good that if you close your eyes you could literally be transported to a white sand beach where a tall dark and handsome man gently massages coconut oil into your back as the sun warms your skin and the breeze carries the melodic tones of tropical birdsong. Ok, I do have a vivid imagination, but cleaning never felt so Mills and Boon...

Made right here in New Zealand, Beauty Engineered for Ever (B_E_E) products are made with natural cleaning agents and essential oils. It is the only range of cleaning products in New Zealand to have achieved Environmental Choice accreditations as they meet the most stringent global eco standards and are endorsed by the New Zealand Ministry for the Environment. So the 'suits' approve, but far from looking serious or dull, the packaging is sleek and chic and adorned with witty banter such as, 'I'll do your dirty work' and 'I'm one tough little squirt.' My favourite product in the range has to be Gutsy Concentrate Laundry Liquid. A mere 50ml is perfect for a normal load of wash, so the bottle lasts for ages - your clothes smell great, feel softer and they don't have that nasty chalky finish you sometimes get with powder wash. Big love also goes to the Multi-Surface Cleaner. The bottle has a super powerful trigger that deposits a fine mist of cleaning product and if you keep the trigger and replace the bottle your second purchase is cheaper. Can't complain at that.

ecostore
Don't you deserve a massage after all that hard work cleaning the house? What am I on about you ask? I fell in love with ecostore 'baby' range before I moved onto the cleaning range. Baby Massage Oil is a delicious blend of lavender and geranium in a coconut, olive and jojoba base. If it's good enough for a baby's bottom, it's good enough for mine! Anyway, back to the job at hand... Need something to scrub that bath and basin? Look no further than ecostore 'Cream Cleanser', a lemon verbena oil scented product that cleans gently and thoroughly and won't sting your fingers. In addition to a full cleaning range for the home, ecostore also boast a hair-care, body care, baby care and even pet care range so your home and family can be clean, green and au naturale...
