I love doing jigsaw puzzles! I love taking a new challenge out of the box and laying each piece out with great anticipation at the task ahead. Setting up the outside is easy and it creates the foundation for connecting everything else together. Getting onto what is inside – well that’s where the fun really begins! Some pieces are easy and just slot into place, others take a bit more time and effort. Then there are some that are downright frustrating and you begin to wonder if they made a mistake and slipped a dud piece in. But then when you find their right place it feels oh-so-satisfying and you can move onto the next piece. You continue to make progress until finally every piece is connected and you sit back and celebrate your achievement.

Your life is like that jigsaw puzzle, made up of lots of pieces that all fit together. Yes, setting up the outside world around you is easy as you create the foundation for your life: home, family, education, values and beliefs etc. The fun really begins as you begin to discover who you are inside. Your life experiences, such as making good friends, falling in love, cool adventures, facing great challenges are all pieces that fit together to make up who you are. Some of those experiences and learnings are easy and seem to connect together effortlessly; however some take more effort and leave you wondering if there hasn’t been some huge mistake! They are all there for a reason - the good, bad and yes, the ugly ones all have their place and you can’t take any short cuts or leave any pieces out otherwise you are left with an incomplete picture.

So see all aspects of your life as pieces in your own puzzle. Embrace the journey of discovering every piece of yourself, and know that every word, thought and action fits together and has meaning in your life. You are creating who you are so create the best picture possible and celebrate your achievement!
