What about some tips or pointers for people wanting to look smarter this winter?
Ok here goes...

•    After the age of 45 most women need to cut their hair off above the shoulders
•    If you have chunky legs AVOID skinny jeans!
•    Beautifully applied make up can take years off your appearance
•    Don’t dye your hair darker as you age, it makes you look older and more haggard
•    Wear clothes that like you not just ones that you like!
•    We live in a world where image matters, even when we resist!
•    You only get one chance to make a first impression
•    If you haven’t worn something for a year then move it along…
•    Sort out what colours suit you and wear them – you will look good all of the time
•    Dress for yourself, not your partner or lover… they will love you if you love yourself..

Name the best dressed Kiwis you admire – and why?
John Key – he looks smart, effortless and pays attention to detail.  It’s great to see a well presented prime minister! Trelise Cooper – she pushes the boundaries, wears colour and looks like she celebrates life. Andrea Moore for her attention to detail and variety in styling in her ranges… She is also big on colour and looks great in it! Dan Carter - he has lead by example for our boys in black and knows how to put himself together well. Lynn Woods - because she is experimental, wears shapes and styles that suit her and intuitively knows how to help others.

You mentioned a few designers there. How do you rate NZ labels?
Our fashion designers produce amazing garments and set a social agreement of what’s hot and what’s not.   Trelise always looks amazing and is the epitome of her label with her curly blonde hair.  She lives her dream.  She is also an inspiration to women. I have also been a fan of Karen Walker since her label began.   Annah Stretton has found a niche that many women love. Tanya Carlson has a vintage elegance about her.

Stephanie won the overall prize for the best dressed woman at the New Zealand Cup Week races at Addington in Christchurch three years ago. She now runs her own style company Flair Image to help other women dress in style.
