nzff-logo.jpgThe countdown is on to New Zealand Fashion Festival 2011!  Now in its second year, after a successful launch in March 2010, NZFF will be the one of the hottest tickets this year, and the place to be for fashion lovers.  The FashioNZ team shares all the information on this fabulous event with Gloss.

FashioNZ caught up with a few of the designers showing and asked them for a sneak peek at what we can expect!

Cybele Wiren, Cybele
“I am really looking forward to the Fashion Festival.  We are showing on the first night with an excellent line up presented by Fashion Quarterly.  People are starting to get pretty excited about the whole event.  Shows are always a lot of fun and this one will be no exception!  We will be showing our current Winter collection - Nieriya which is the collection we showed at Fashion Week in September and is now in store at our newly opened boutique at 62 Ponsonby Rd."

Monique Sinel, Tigerlily
"I am extremely excited about the Chameleon Leather shorts black in our W11 collection.  You think leather shorts - no way!  Yes way, they are to die for and so wearable.  I also love our cropped Lantern Angora sweater.  Snuggling up in this through the autumn months - can't wait!  Our oversized handbags and leather wallets are just a few of the accessories that will be on show come our event.”

Caroline Marr, The Carpenter’s Daughter
“The Carpenter’s Daughter will be showing their Autumn/Winter collection at NZ Fashion Festival - Edwardian fashion and the art of “feminine wiles” have inspired the collection, and we are looking forward to showcasing it on the runway!”

Vicki Taylor, taylor boutique
“Taylor is very excited to be participating in the NZ Fashion Festival designer collection show. Our reveal collection has many amazing pieces so it is exciting to see the way they will be shown on the catwalk. ...and then followed up on Saturday 26th March with a Designer Day in-store at taylor, Teed St, Newmarket, where the design team will be styling up a storm.

This fashion festival is a wonderful bridge that brings the fabulous festivities and love of fashion and style we see on the catwalks, into the shops where everyone can participate and enjoy the fashion focused atmosphere. This will be an amazing fun filled week.”

Theresa Brady, Doosh, Sable&Minx and Brady
Theresa Brady certainly has her work cut out for her at this year's Fashion Festival - she is showing all three of her labels, Doosh, Sable&Minx and Brady, at the Cleo Show on Thurs March 24. "This is exciting for me, as it is the first event of this caliber in which we are showing in season ranges to the public," she says. "This is also the first time that the public will see Brady, the range that I design with Rebecca - as this is its launch collection."

As well as the Designer Collection shows, other NZFF events include the Vidcom Business Breakfast and M.A.C Beauty Seminar, hosted by senior MAC artist Amber D. The ever-popular Designer Garage Sale will close off the week, and there will be a host of free fashion related events and specials around Auckland, as part of the Super City programme.  All events are open to the public to buy tickets for.  Check out FashioNZ.co.nz for information on these events.
