Lucie Boshier is the queen of colour in the New Zealand fashion industry - Fashionz.co.nz caught up with her for a quick chat before her label hits the catwalk at fashion week...
What has been the hardest thing to accomplish in the weeks leading up to Fashion Week?
Getting everything finished to perfection! There is so much to do and so much of it you cannot do until last minute. I’m still trying to accomplish chillage.
What has been the most fun part of the preparation?
Liaising with my amazing chorographers from Diamond Dance and my stylist, Tamzyn Elliot. I love seeing the clothes coming together and planning the show! Designing a new range, sticking diamantes on 15 pairs of shoes, designing a new ad campaign … I love it all!
What can we expect from your show at fashion week ( we hear it is going to be extreme!)
Chaos.
How are you going to get through the week leading up to ANZFW?
Grit my teeth, and try to enjoy the total hype and madness that surrounds me!
Tell us about your own personal style - what are your top 5 fashion possessions?
I like a mix of different things, old and new.
• A gorgeous vintage bag from K Road that I love
• A cashmere cardigan that started out as huge until I put it in the dryer – it’s now holey, stained and falling apart. My pattern maker tried to hide it from me to no avail – I love it! So soft!
• A ring that was my grandmothers, she lived in Africa and the ring is a diamond shape with a picture of Victoria Falls in it.
• Charles Jordon Shoes – they’re plastic and 5” tall and are so beautifully constructed. They are completely impractical and very uncomfortable! I hardly ever wear them but I love them to bits!
• A piece of Bendon lingerie I just purchased that I’ve been wearing on the outside. It’s really silky and pretty.
Last year there were a few well known kiwi gals modeling in your show - who will we be seeing this year?
We haven’t got so many celebrities in our show this year – but we have an eclectic bunch of dancers, singers, models and all-round gorgeous and confident woman.
What are you going to do to wind down after fashion week?
