ImageEdible treats and a relaxing Christmas at the beach for designer Caroline Church ...

How is your Christmas shopping coming along?  Any tips/ideas?
I’m making yummy edible treats this year, so have it all planned and will devote a weekend in mid December to baking and filling jars with chutneys and jams, then baking the weekend before. The ingredients list is made, jars are organised, and so are the favourite recipes, so there’ll be no stress with running out of ingredients or recipes failing!
Make an effort to give something to someone who really needs it too – there are a lot of people who won’t have anything for Christmas without help, so have some extra gifts for KidsCan or the City Mission to give on your behalf.

What do you hope to find in your Christmas stocking?
Certainly not Santa’s gnarled old foot!

How will you spend Christmas day?
With my husband, mother and sister and Stones Murphy the dog, at our house at the beach. My father recently died, so this is our first Christmas without him - it will be a quiet time for us all.

Are you going away after Christmas?  Where and with whom?
I don’t go away at Christmas – everyone else does, so peace and quiet is right at home. There’s a lot of weeding to do in the garden anyway!

What’s your Christmas wish for your business?
To have a great break and come back to work refreshed and full of inspiration. There are a lot of wedding dresses to make in January and no doubt there will be many more orders after New Year!

What’s your Christmas wish for FashioNZ readers?
To be safe and happy and make the most of the time you spend with your friends and families.
