Emma Thompson is back as Nanny McPhee in the sequel to the hit film, once again bringing the favourite children’s character to life in Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang. Relying on everything from a flying motorcycle and a statue that comes alive, to a tree-climbing piglet and a baby elephant that turns up in the oddest places, Nanny McPhee conjures up just the right formula to teach her children five new lessons. The Gloss team was lucky enough to catch up with Emma to talk about her latest film.
Synopsis: Callie Perry is a successful family photographer living a charmed life in suburban Bedford, New York, with her adoring children and husband. Callie is completely happy in her life, getting to live out her passion of photography, and spend time with her loving family and friends. Her sister Steffi is the total opposite. Steffi has never grown up, and does not have the settled existence her sister has. She’s always been a free spirit, living in Manhattan and bouncing between jobs, and boyfriends. She’s finally discovered her calling as a chef, and works in a vegan restaurant. However, an unlikely friendship that blossoms between Steffi and a customer leads her to a simpler life in the country; a life which Steffi finds surprisingly appealing.
I have to admit that I am probably not the most unbiased person to review this film, as I am a self-confessed Twi-hard. My not-so-secret obsession with Twilight has become the subject of much derision from friends of mine, given that I am a 24 year old woman obsessed with a teenage vampire saga.
These cute, precocious kids grew up on our movie and TV screens, but sadly for some of them, their early success did not continue in later life, and sometimes, they fell into obscurity, or notoriety for all the wrong reasons. The Gloss team decided to do some investigating and see what some of our favourite child stars of the 80’s and 90’s are up to now.
