ImageBlogging - it seems to be the 'in thing' these days with everyone revealing their innermost thoughts for the whole world to see on the world wide web... Some bloggers have even achieved worldwide fame for getting their feelings out into the open online and whether it be nasty celebrity gossip, the diary of a housewife or a critique of the fashion industry there in some surprisingly entertaining writing to be found online.

The Superficial - Because You're Ugly

Celeb gossip with a nasty slant... this blog (which seems to be written by a teenage boy) can be hysterically funny at times and is political incorrectness at its worst. He does somehow manage to get breaking celebrity news and good pictures. You have been warned!

Excerpt...
'Victoria Beckham is allegedly starting up a Hollywood book club, with Katie Holmes and Jennifer Lopez set to join. She plans for members of the book club to meet once a month at each other's houses where they'll discuss the book they've been reading. A source tells the Daily Star:
"When Victoria told Katie about a book club, Katie thought it was a great idea, especially as she would love to learn more about British classics. Victoria has asked five of her friends, including Jennifer Lopez and Katie, to become members."Keep in mind this is Posh Spice, who a while ago admitted to have never read a single book in her entire life. At their first meeting everybody will be ready to discuss Pride and Prejudice and she'll have brought a copy of Green Eggs and Ham. Then before they even start she'll break down and admit she rented the movie.'

Life In LA

A blog written by 28-year-old Claire Bidwell Smith and her life in Los Angeles. An online diary of Claire trying to figure out who she is and what's it all about. The blog is at the same time charmingly real and beautifully written.

'Much of what I write about here has to do with me trying to figure out how to be a twenty-eight year old woman living alone in Los Angeles. I often write about the lows, the contemplative afternoons, the twisting, manic screaming that wells up inside of me, the strange encounters, the nightmares and lucid dreamscapes, the falls, the pushes, the soft sounds.'
In October of 2003 the Sydney Morning Herald named Life in La one of the best blogs in the world.

Gizmodo

Aptly described as 'the gadget guide. So much in love with shiny new toys, it's unnatural.'

Gizmodo is frequently updated with fascinating new gadgets and technology from around the world, but despite its geeky outward appearance, the site is actually laugh out loud funny in terms of both technology and the way it is written. On a new description of a gadget called Rocket Belt, which seems to rocket people into the sky, the writer has this to say,

"What...is...that?"
"It's a Rocket Belt, honey. I'm outta here."
"But what about your house, your family?"
"Ha! Those were just a facade, a means to procure my Rocket Belt. Good-bye!"

10 Seconds Later...
"Doesn't hold much fuel?"
"I don't want to talk about it."

With great power comes great responsibility, but after you spend $250,000 on TAM's Rocket Belt, how can you be responsible to...say...pay your mortgage? Luckily the price does include lessons and "a special machine" to make your own fuel.

Go Fug Yourself - Fugly is the new pretty

Very snide and very snarky, celebrity style is torn to pieces on the pages of this blog.

Don't dare wear your trouser length too long on the red carpet when fugly is watching... 'We've been so busy trying to battle leggings and formal shorts with our verbal light-sabres (which, when I was little, I always thought were called "light savers," which made no sense to me since they emitted colored light; I guess I should have trusted George Lucas, but then again, look where that got us with the prequels) that it just didn't occur to me to stay vigilant about trouser length. I just assumed people had already learned the lesson...'
