ImageRenowned makeup artist Nikki Lovrich really knows her stuff when it comes to beauty. That's why we asked her to pick her top six value-for-money beauty products... The article is brought to you by www.fashionz.co.nz

L'Oreal True Match Super- Blendable Makeup
When it comes to finding the perfect foundation, you simply can't go past L'Oreal True Match. As a professional makeup artist I find that it suits all skin types, and with sixteen shades to choose from, there is a colour for everyone.

True match has a buildable texture, which means that you can control the coverage, making as light or heavy as you see fit. The colours are grouped into warm, neutral and cool, which makes it easy to find your ideal shade. The small glass bottles are practical (and look professional), and the addition of an SPF 17 means that you get sun protection as well as the perfect coverage. All this for only $33.99.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
If you have sensitive skin, you may find that most cleansers are simply too harsh, stripping your skin of moisture and leaving it tight and dry. I discovered Cetaphil many years ago while shopping in a drug store in LA and since then I have used nothing else. Cetaphil's main attributes are that its oil free, which means it does not clog pores, plus its fragrance free, which makes it perfect for delicate skin (Its even mild enough for baby).

The best thing is that you can buy Cetaphil at most pharmacies and the price ranges from about $15.00 through to $25- depending what size you choose. They also do a fantastically rich body moisturizer that is fragrance free.

Jane Iredale PureGloss for lips
I am allergic to many lip glosses and lipsticks, as they often contain petroleum and other nasty chemicals which draw out the oil in the lips, causing dryness and eczema. Recently, I was thrilled to discover that I could use Jane Iredale's lip gloss with no allergic reaction at all.

PureGloss is formulated in a base of organic vegetable oils that provide nourishment to the lips, while leaving a long lasting shine (and the tingly taste of ginger). The clear gloss looks great over lip pencil or on its own, plus there is an extensive colour range to choose from.  $38.50 is a small price to pay for such a luxury!

L'Oreal Gentle Makeup Remover for Eyes & Lips
During Air New Zealand Fashion week we go through dozens of bottles of this backstage, as the models often have to wipe their makeup off in double quick time between shows.

Because it has a slightly oily formula, it removes even the toughest of mascaras, while still being gentle on the eyes. It has a plastic bottle that is easy to use in the shower and light to travel with. At $16.99 you can afford to use as much as the models do!

Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturiser
Last summer I discovered Bobbi Brown's tinted moisturiser and I've never looked back. It has a wonderfully non-oily texture which instantly absorbs into the skin leaving no residue, plus it gives your skin a sheer and golden glow - perfect for matching up a tanned body with a pale face!

The best feature of this little gem is that it has an SPF of 15, which is just enough to protect your skin all year round. At $62.00 this makeup essential is priceless.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish
These MAC mineral blushers give your skin the most beautiful shimmery glow and look great dusted across the cheeks and brow bone, plus they can double as an eye shadow. I have five different colours in my own makeup bag, ranging from a deep bronze through to a soft peach (yes, I am addicted).

My current favorite is called 'Northern Light', which is a gorgeous rosy brown with a hint of gold. Mineralize powders are priced round $52.00 and come in a large compact which seems to last forever.
