ImageYou don't need a million and one makeup products to get a glamorous look. Here are five quick and easy tips - perfect for gals on the go, or impromptu nights on the town...

·        You want thick, lush lashes for an evening out but you only have your day mascara? Dust a light coating of loose powder over your eyelashes before applying mascara. The powder acts as a base and gives the lashes an instant boost...

·        Need a dash of blush to give your face a glow? A dab of pink lipstick or gloss slicked onto your fingertip works perfectly as a cream blush. Simply blend it in circles over the apples of your cheeks. You lips will tone in perfectly with your cheeks and your face will glow with the moisture from the lipstick.

·        Emphasise those eyes by dipping a thin eyeliner brush (or even a cotton tip) into water and then smoothing it across the surface of your usual powder shadow. The powder will thicken and intensify giving an eyeliner-like depth to your look with just one product. Apply as you would eyeliner and voila! This is perfect for getting that smokey eye look that is hot for autumn.

·        A light brown eyeshadow can be used in place of an eyebrow pencil - it gives a soft finish and a less defined look, which is ideal for the bushy brow trend. Use an eyeshadow applicator to lightly smooth the colour into the brow, then blend.

·        Everyone should invest in a basic creamy, neutral or ivory eyeshadow. Smoothed over the eyelid, it acts as a base for powder shadow to grip to, applied under the arch of the brow it lifts the eye, and applied in the inner corner of the eye it makes your eye pop. If you don't have one, use concealer... Apply over the entire eyelid as well as under the eye then apply mascara - you'll be amazed at how simply evening out the skin tone around the eye will lift your face.
