New Zealand Fashion Week is all about (what else) fashion, but the hair and makeup also play a huge role in contributing to the atmosphere of the shows, and great hair and makeup will really make the clothes pop, and the show memorable. Here’s a selection of our favourite beautiful faces from NZ Fashion Week, courtesy of Beauty Bible.
Trelise Cooper
You can always count on Trelise Cooper to take things to the next level and the makeup was no different. MAC senior artist Amber D created the look. Her inspiration was ‘angelic girls, soft but powerful’ and she certainly achieved that. Get the look.
Stolen Girlfriends Club The theme for this show revolved around the aftermath of a great night out. Greg Murrell at Ryder for KMS California came up with a hair-styling that was simple and clean looking from a frontal perspective, but decided that the hair could have a different feel at the back of the head, as though the model had slept on their party hair from the previous night. Accessories such as plastic cigarette butts and fresh flowers were then placed randomly in the hair. Get the look.
Zambesi
Ahh Zambesi, I don’t think I have ever seen a pretty face, bright lip or glowing cheek bones at one of their shows. I’ve seen strong brows and last year’s take on the smoky eye with just black kohl painted under the eye, but this year was really something else. Let's just say they like to keep things dark and moody. Get the look.
Sera Lilly
Sera Lilly’s Sisters of Salvador A/W 2011 collection was infused with bohemian femininity and passion -looks which Smashbox’s team of 18 Pro Artists recreated on the faces of the 45-strong team of first time models. They created three different looks, from the feminine to the sophisticated. Find out more.
Huffer
The feeling for this collection was inspired by American college fraternities and sororities. The women’s hair needed to capture the freedom of college life, so the brief from show stylist Rachael Churchward was a simple, dishevelled look that animated the essence of the collection. Get the look.
