While most of us don’t need a reason to love M.A.C Cosmetics any more than we already do, there are two new reasons for makeup lovers to smile.

The first is M.A.C’s brand new store in Botany Town Centre, Auckland.

This striking store – the eighth and biggest M.A.C store in New Zealand – is located within the Fountain Lane North precinct which has recently undergone a stunning $6.5 million upgrade.

Boasting the latest New York-inspired M.A.C fit-out, the store opened on October 20 to a queue of eager ladies thrilled to have a new makeup Mecca in East Auckland.

And what was in store was nearly as exciting – a sneak peek at M.A.C’s Holiday 2011 range, which was released nationwide this week.

The ‘Glitter and Ice’ collection is inspired by flamboyant American figure skater Johnny Weir, and having been treated to a sneak preview of the new range, it’s safe to say it’s utterly gorgeous.

From mineralise eye shadow to lippies with matching nail lacquer; shakeable snow globe compacts to ‘Iced Delights’ lip or eye bags; as well as face kits and brush kits containing glamorous glitter-handled brushes and ‘future-chic’ crystal clear bags with metallic trim, the theme is simply dazzling.

And having been treated to the glitter and ice look by M.A.C’s very own senior artist Amber D at the brand-new store, while skaters in Johnny Weir’s signature outrageous costumes whirled and twirled around the store, I certainly felt like an ice princess.
