faking_radiance.jpgLooking a bit lack lustre? Learn how to fake radiance fast with minimal effort…

Are you suffering from:

a)  Stress?
b)  Dull skin?
c)  Too many apple mojitos?
d)  Sleep deprivation due to a late night tryst with an illicit lover?

If any, or all (you naughty girl) of the above apply to you then follow these simple instructions to fake a radiant, always-in-bed-before-9pm-and-up-at-6am-to-practice-yoga type of glow.

Take Agness Deyn for example - the 'it' girl of the moment. She must be partying every night (like all the cool celeb kids do) but because she knows the secret to excellently applied highlighter she looks fresh as a daisy!

All you need is five minutes and a few stock standard products

Exfoliate
Get the blood flowing using an exfoliator like this one here , some sugar mixed in to your regular cleanser, or an old, damp flannel.

Massage
Spend 30 seconds massaging moisturiser in to your face in upward, circular movements - this gets the blood flowing and helps to plump the skin on the face.

Create a good base
Add a tiny bit of moisturiser to your foundation – the worst thing for faking radiance is wearing foundation that is too heavy.

If you have a loose powder or liquid highlighter, mix a little into the foundation too. Press the foundation mixture into your skin and ensure it is well blended.

Conceal
Under your eyes, and most importantly, in the corner of your eyes and out to the sides of your nose by the eye area. Making sure this area has no dark shadows is essential for creating a radiant, wide-eyed look.

Highlighter
Using a natural, golden coloured highlighter, finely dust it on your cheekbones, temples, down the centre of your nose and under the brow. If you don’t have a highlighter on hand, a natural coloured eyeshadow with a subtle shimmer in it will do.

Bronze/blush

Bronze or blush up the apples of your cheeks. Don’t worry about trivial things like contouring to create cheek bones at a time like this – the look we are going for here is perky and alive.

Open up your eyes
Groom the brows by creating as severe an arch as you possibly can. The higher the arch, the more your eyes will pop. Gel them down to make them behave and retain the arch.

Curl your lashes to open up your eyes, and if you have a white eyeliner, line the rims of your eyes to make the whites look bigger.

Spray yourself with a gorgeous perfume, smile, and no one will suspect a thing!
