Avoid panda eyes this summer

My summer beauty routine is all about minimal fuss and the convenience factor.

The hot days, late nights and constant swims mean I don’t want to be spending a lot of time getting ready, only for it to be undone by the elements!

Probably my biggest pet hate in summer is panda eyes. We all desire long, thick lashes around the clock, but summer and mascara don’t seem to go together well.

Luckily there is now a solution for this, allowing us to flutter our long lashes all summer long!

False eyelashes have been around for years, and while they are more popular than ever, a new craze for semi-permanent eyelash extensions is also emerging thanks to celebrity fans like Cheryl Cole and Kim Kardashian.

Eyelash extensions are designed add length, thickness and fullness to your natural eyelashes.

This delicate procedure is totally relaxing; taking approximately one to two hours it involves directly applying between 40 and 100 lashes onto each individual lash and is designed to last until the lashes naturally fall out.

You’re lashes will look gorgeous for three to six weeks, depending on the natural life cycle of your own lashes. This cycle is usually around 30 days - eyelashes naturally fall out and grow back over this cycle, then you can start having in-fills.

The beauty of these in the summer are that you can swim without the worry of streaky mascara and wake up knowing your eyes look as great as they did the night before. Even if the rest of you may be a little worse for wear, your eyes won’t be.

Eyelash extensions are also fairly maintenance free. There is not a whole lot that needs to be done in order to facilitate their upkeep. After all, they are just an extension of the natural lash.

Do your research before getting someone to do your lashes, make sure they are professionally trained – there should be no discomfort during the procedure or at anytime while wearing your lashes.

My only warning is that once you have them you will be addicted! Chuck your mascara away and be prepared to maintain them every few weeks, you wont regret your new, beautiful lashes.

You need to make sure you comb them with the mascara comb in the morning as they can go into all different kind of directions sometimes. The other thing you must do - make sure you treat them really gently if you are removing your makeup. You could pull the lashes out and it can look quite obvious - because they are usually darker and thicker than your own lashes. Otherwise enjoy it! I love it!
